Thanks for checking out my page! Let me explain a little about myself and how I got here.
I studied Psychology back in my undergrad years in Maryland, and moved down to Florida to pursue higher education. Since then I became certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and in Florida's Council Against Sexual Violence Advocacy Core Training. My clinical experience includes working with the homeless population as well as years in intensive outpatient Trauma therapy. Regardless of any other component of my client's identity (age, gender, ethnicity, race, sexual or gender identity, etc.), if they had a traumatic experience, they qualified to see me. Because of this, I've clocked in years working with extremely diverse clientele which has pushed me to explore a multitude of approaches to connect, cope with symptoms, and move forward. Starting my own practice felt like the next best step!
I think it's important to also mention that my own mental health journey and experience as a client has inspired me, probably the most. I struggled with my mental health being in a dark place for a long time and it was extremely isolating and exhausting. I've been in my own therapy now for years and I know exactly how difficult it can be to open up and be vulnerable, but it's been so worth it. I'm so far from that dark place I was in, have been for a while now, and my therapists played a big role in helping me get here. And now, I aspire to be that resource for you on your journey.
I invite you to take the first step and send me a message or give me a call. I look forward to working with you, and I'll see you soon.
